Adam lately

What to say? Adam is so much fun! He has started to pounce on things! It is so cute. I will try to explain. He will be holding on to something and let go and he gets his arms all ready (imagine if you were about to do a measurement of how far you can jump without running and you get your arms and legs all ready to get your maximum length) so anyway, Adam gets his arms all ready and his face gets all excited and he just pounces on pillows or stuffed animals or anything. Adam just received an awesome chair...his size...his very own chair with his name on it and everything from his Uncle Brian and Aunt Amy. WOW! That was a great gift b/c now Adam pounces all over it! So funny. He has also begun to let go and take 2 or so steps and just fall into our arms! Besides his laugh and his angel sleeping face that might be my favorite part. He is so cute getting ready to fall into my arms. I love it. Today I counted 8 steps to me. They are baby steps of course but it was 1,2,3,4, 5,6,7,8 really fast and then he fell into me. I love it!

Tonight, Brent went into his room to tuck him in and check on him for the last time and Brent put his hand on Adam's chest just to check on him and Adam smiled in his sleep and then laughed.....a real laugh! Isn't that cute!!!!

On another note, I need to start being a little more honest if I want to keep these posts for Adam in the future. He needs to know he was not always perfect. Adam STILL has a horrible time napping. It is so heartbreaking. Today, he just screamed bloody murder to me! He was so darn tired and rubbing his eyes but refused to sleep. I had to go get a bottle and curl him up in my arms and he took that bottle and went right to sleep for his nap. Keep in mind, he already had his morning bottle and just finished a big breakfast that he refused any more bites from. He was not hungry for that bottle he just still doesn't know how to sleep. Now we can all blame me for this but I have tried and tried to just put him in his crib and tried a naptime routine and it doesn't work. He screams for an hour and works himself up into a fit to where he is not tired anymore anyway and then I have to get him out of the crib b/c he refuses to sleep. For months, we have been pacing with him on our shoulder and patting his back and this seems to be the only way to calm him down to rest and then sleep. Just these last 2 weeks that doesn't really work either. I don't know!!!!! I wish SuperNanny could come to my house and fix it. If naps were solved Adam would be PERFECTION b/c everything else is great. Just when he refuses to nap he becomes cranky b/c he is tired and everything else stems from that. Oh and when he does nap it is for 30 minutes on the dot!! You can time it. (unless he is sleeping in our lap then sometimes...sometimes it is longer)
I say all this because...well...I guess I saw a small part of an Oprah show where Mom's were being truthful and it made me realize that if close friends would actually admit when they were having a tough time then maybe some moms wouldn't feel alone with what they are going through. I am so THANKFUL that Adam is healthy, smart, beautiful, funny, smiley, laughy, flirty on and on and on...but we have our days. I don't want to complain anymore I want to be grateful but at the same time I don't want to hide that we have our days! There are days I cry. There are days I laugh and dance. We are a normal family. Adam....one day baby when you read this and your babies are not sleeping you will know that you did the same thing to me! :)
