Mom Confession 10

Last week after lunch, I pulled Adam out of his high chair after REFUSING his lunch meat. About 10 minutes later, I heard him with the trash lid. As I was reminding him, that we don't play in the trash, he continued to pull his lunch meat out of the trash and eat it! WHAT? He ate his lunch out of the trash!!!! WHAT? He refused to eat his lunch but grabbed it out of the trash to eat it? GROSS

New words

So, many people hear Adam say lots of things. I don't quite hear it but as weird as it sounds, maybe I don't hear it because I hear him all day.

Some more things he has been heard saying:
glass
Granddad
stinky
thank you

Adam Christmas

Wow! Did Adam have a Merry Christmas! He did fantastic at opening up all his presents! At 16 and a half months and he did so good. He would get excited about a present and tear off the paper and then be excited about the contents of the present! So cute. A lot of the time he would be in Brent's lap or my lap. Super cute.

We surprised him with his Santa gift at Granddad's house. He came straight out of the bedroom and straight for his basketball goal. He picked up the basketball and dunked it. Over and over again he dunked his basketball! We could quite get him to 'shoot' the ball but he dunked it over and over again. I mean, he never even knew about the basketball goal yet he was able to walk right up to the goal and knew what to do.

He got a Gator jeep from his MiMi and PopPop and LOVED it! He climbed on that car all day long. He learned how to put his foot on the gas almost instantly. Later, he drove in circles outside.

What a great Christmas! Happy Birthday Jesus!

Vacation to Davis Mountains and Big Bend

We recently returned from our vacation to Davis Mountains and Big Bend! Adam did really well. On the way to Davis Mountains we stayed at Blanco State Park. It was a nice little park on the Blanco river. The next day we continued our trip to Davis Mountains National Park! That park was beautiful and almost deserted! We were just about the only RV there and we were the only RV in our little loop! The rangers said that we had the most coveted spot in the park. It was nice. We went on some nice hikes and at night I thought the stars were the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. I felt like I could reach up and touch them. It was amazing! An absolute gift from God. The 2nd day we hiked at Chihuahua Botanical Gardens. (Let me get back to you on the spelling) That was one of my favorite hikes. Adam fell asleep most of the time in his backpack carrier. Too cute.

From there, we went to Big Bend and that place was so massive it was more beautiful that Davis Mountains. We did ALOT of hiking there and some of them were a little challeging! Kudos to Brent who probably hiked more than 20 miles with Adam on his back. I did one hike for about a mile that was flat. Our favorite hike was the Chisos Mountains!

We ended our trip by going to Balmorhea State Park. The park wasn't anything to write home about but it did have a natural spring fed pool that stayed around 72 degrees year round. We had fun watching Brent swim. Adam was actually hilarious! It is so hard to describe but Brent got up on the high diving board and Adam started to get a little concerned. When Brent jumped..........Adam freaked. I am not kidding it was a scream like I have NEVER heard. I mean NEVER b/c the scream was of fear and Adam has never had to cry/scream with fear. But he was truly afraid that his Dad was gone or was going to be hurt or something. He did not understand the diving board, jumping in and disappearing. His scream of fear turned into crying. It was the saddest pout face ever. Brent did it again and the scream came again. It probably took Brent jumping 6 or so times and me describing it all to Adam and Adam seeing Brent ok before he stopped screaming when Brent jumped! It was so sad yet sweet at the same time.

We went to McDonald Observatory on our last day. Then later decided to truck it home. We left around 6PM so Adam could sleep all the way home and we got home around 3AM. Adam pretty much woke up every 30 minutes to whine, poor thing. But the last 3 hours or so he slept soundly.

We made it home safe and sound and besides a few temper tantrums from Adam, some restless nights and scared we would be eatten by javolinas.....we did great!

Last few weeks

Adam has been getting his molars in. Top first the bottom almost at the same time. But as soon as the bottom started poking through all 4 (top and bottom) of the incisors are coming in too! 8 teeth in almost at once.

Right there

Today, we asked Adam where his belly button is? As always, he lifted his shirt and looked down and pointed BUT tonight he said 'right there'!

So cute!

Today, he also said 'down' and 'done'.

I miss my sister and nephew!

Autumn, if you are reading this......I miss you and Peyton! Love you both!

Adam - words

The past few nights, Adam has been clearly mimicing us. I don't think it really counts for talking but it has been fun.

He now CLEARLY says:
bye bye
mama
dada
out
He says the following but not clearly:
da - when talking about a dog
dat - when talking about a cat
dududu - when talking about a duck
uh oh - when dropping something
uh uh - when saying no
ouh - when saying ouch

TODAY:
He said done and waved both hands in the air for his 'all done' sign language. He said done a couple of times.

Mom Confession #9

I guess for my confession, you should read the food post below!

Confession: I was getting frustrated with Adam throwing food on the floor and couldn't for the life of me think of a solution. Yet the answer is so simple! Why as a Mom could I not THINK!!!!!!!

Mommy brain!

Food lately

Lately, Adam has eatten eggs!!! YEA and Vienna Sausages......YEA too. He has had some great steps forward!

With that said, He has started throwing food on the floor again. I mean, He looks me straight in the eyes and throws the food on the floor. Anyway, after some sound advice from friends and my husband, we decide to just start taking the plate away. So that is what I will start tomorrow. To catch you up a little, I was told a while back to take his food away or pinch his fingers. Taking the food away didn't phase him at all!!!!! He never acts hungry so I decided to stop taking food away since he is picky in the first place so I tried pinching. I did that for a day and it worked. He stopped for a while until now AND it broke my heart to pinch him anyway AND he started to just laugh at me!!

THIS week: this was my solution. Just calmly wait until our meals were over and then make Adam wait in his high chair while I explained to him that I was having to clean up all the food he threw down which he wasn't suppose to do.

This did NOT work!

So, back to trying to take food away! It also made me realize I need to read some parenting books because here I was getting frustrated and couldn't even think what to do next and the answer is so simple.......stay calm, no reaction and take the food away saying....guess you are not hungry if you are throwing your food on the floor!!!! So simple.

Adam firsts!!

Adam ate egg for the first time this week (after about 25 chicks were sacrificed) and he ate eggs twice!!!

This morning, he ate eggs, sausage and fruit and finished it ALL!!!!

He also ate vienna sausage for the first time this week too. It may sound bad but hey.....we are just glad he is eating!

Mom Confession #8

The mom who said she would never allow cartoons turns them on occassionally when she needs to get ready or needs to cook dinner! Adam tunes right in to them too. We like Wonder Pets so much that even Brent goes around singing 'Team Work'.

Maggie returns home!!!

For those of you who do not know, 2+ weeks ago Maggie ran off from our property in East Texas. We have gone back looking for her 3 times realizing how HUGE the Davy Crockett National Forest extends! It became so sad. My personality just worried about her and if she was sad thinking we left her.

Well, I put the word out to some friends and family to keep a look out for her. My sweet cousin actually spread the word and spread the word. Finally, people were responding with...'I saw a white dog in Pennington' and 'I saw a white dog with a brown spot on her eye at JohnDoe's house' and 'I saw a white dog at the Y'. My cousin later called me to tell me my dog was at the jail in Groveton! We drove to Groveton today and it was HER! Maggie was there at the jail so healthy and happy to see us! We are so glad to have her home!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, God answers prayer in his time!!!

Huge thanks to all those who kept an eye out for her and picked her up and kept her safe! Thank you for never giving up hope and thank you Lori!!!!!

Mom confession #7

Tonight during our bedtime routine, I feel asleep giving Adam his bottle. When I woke up, I just layed there some more faking it because I was enjoying the cuddle time! Oh, and Adam was asleep too.

Went to the zoo

What a beautiful day to go to the zoo. Adam had a good time. He pointed to a few animals he noticed and other than that he just wanted to do his thing....walk around wherever he wanted.

Mom Confession #6

#6: Here is your sippy cup from staying at granddad's! Later.....ooops your cup has milk in it? I didn't even check just assumed it was water. he he ha ha........glad it was still good. (it was still good wasn't it? I have no idea)

Halloween 2009

After much debate on 'what to do' for Halloween we decided to take Adam to our neighborhood Halloween Hayride. It turned out to be a BLAST! Adam did fantastic considering the hayride starts at his bedtime.

We put Adam in his pumpkin costume thinking it would show up better on the camera at night (Brent's suggestion) and it did!!! Adam enjoyed just walking around. He really wanted off the trailer which was one of our fears before going on the hayride but he did great. I am not even kidding when I tell you by the last stop Adam ABSOLUTELY anticipated that when the trailer stopped he got to get off and walk around. We let him walk around the decorated yards but only went up to one person to say trick or treat for the camera but didn't take any candy at all. He doesn't eat it and we don't need it. We just went for the experience. Adam really did not notice all the kids in costume to tell you the truth. Toward the end, he noticed the boy beside us with a costume on and an orange pumpkin bucket. He started pointing and talking to the boy about his pumkin. The other ineresting thing is Adam noticed the full moon tonight and started pointing up and asking 'that?'

When we got in the car to go home Adam was WIRED! He has a blast laughing at the house but then CRASHED! Massively crashed and ready for bed by 8:30!!

Great Halloween Baby Adam!

what to call this?

I could call this...Awe. or What to do. or Heart breaking. or Adam took a long nap today and is now just laying awake in his crib.

Seriously, my heart is breaking. I am watching Adam on the video monitor just laying in his bed wide awake. What do I do?

Refer to previous post about nap. Anyway, he was still napping at 7:30 tonight so I thought I would try to put him in pjs and give him a bottle and he would still be out. I got halfway through the pjs with him semi asleep. I got a bottle ready with him crying wanting it. He curled up in my lap for night night and fell asleep in my arms. As soon as I layed him down, he woke up. He sat up and I told him I would be back. Meanwhile, he lays down and has just been laying there ever since. Not crying. rolling around in the crib just playing. I feel sooooo bad. I want to go back in there like I promised but he has never really just layed in his crib awake. I don't want to mess it up. I want him to realize he can lay there and be ok. He can lay there and finally go to sleep. He can lay there and I will get him later! I just don't want to go in there and rile him up. But I am so sad sitting here watching him try to go back to sleep when he is probably not tired b/c he took a 3plus hour nap!

WHAT? nap

ARG! Adam decided to get super cranky around 3:30 today so I thought I would just try to give him a fast nap. I even told him we could just rest for a minute. He would to sleep with a small fight. He is STILL asleep and it is 6:15. Sound asleep. He already took a nap this morning so I wasn't expecting an afternoon nap. Maybe I need to go back to the days where I told him it is naptime at 1PM. Maybe I try to hold off the morning one again and see if he will do the 1PM. Remember, I have done this in the past and it all changed when he started to get super cranky in the AM. We will see. Oh and pray he still has a fairly normal bedtime.

Mom Confession #5

Mom confession #5 I think my son is the most beautiful, handsome boy ever! shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone.

Afterall, shouldn't we all think our own children is the most beautiful ever? smartest ever? funniest ever?

Mom Confession #4

Sometimes, I let Adam run around and play in is dirty diaper b/c he is happy and screams and cries when I try to change him. I watch him play and play until he is ready for his diaper change OR I can't stand it anymore.

Mom confession #3

I miss Adam when he is gone so much my heart hearts

Mom confession #2

Sometimes I like when someone else babysits Adam because when I pick him up he is soooooooo excited to see me.

Melt my heart

I have to tell you......I am so in love with my son! Adam has been playing chase with his Daddy and he will run full speed into my arms for safety! He has been doing it all the time now. So my favorite part.

Adam spent the night with his Granddad last night and get this...When Brent and I came to pick him up he was out back. I knelt down and peeked out the door and knocked until he saw me. It took a minute and he smile huge and started pointed at me and trying to get to me. When we opened the door he fell into my arms and didn't let go. I mean he hugged and hugged me and gave me kisses. When I left to go to the restroom he cried and cried and ran through the house searching for me until he found me. Melt my heart.

Even bigger news.....apparently clear as day Adam said Granddad. A couple of times clear as day. He also said 'owwe' when he hurt himself. So adorable

Confessions of Adam's Mom

1. Sometimes I don't pick up all of Adam's cheerios off the floor because he didn't eat a good breakfast and I think, 'At least he will find that cheerio later and actually eat it'. Then I will know he actually ate something.

stay tuned.....I am sure more will follow.

Adam playing

We had a bday party to attend at one of those jump room places. Adam really enjoyed walking around all those huge blow up toys. It was interesting to watch him play and go where HE wanted to go. Later in the party we were shuttled to a new room for cake. The door to all the games/toys were closed b/c there was a new group going in. After eating, Adam got up and walked across the room full of people and went to the door and started banging on it and pulling on the handle to try to go back and play. I am serious! This was about 30 minute later and he still remembered that THAT door went to the play room! He is so smart!

We also went to the mall to play. He found a stroller (someone elses) that looked like a car. He played with that instead of all the mall toys and other kids. I would walk him across the whole play yard and put him down to play and he would turn right around and walk all the way back across the playyard to the stroller! What a memory!! What determination!

Adam's top 2 molars broke through

Last week, Adam's top 2 molars broke through. Just like his bottom teeth, they pretty much broke through on the same day!

After bragging and bragging about how well Adam has been sleeping at night he has had a horrible sleep night all week. He has been getting up at 12midnight and 4AM. What is up with that? I don't know why? I give him Motrin and oragel when he goes to bed. It is like he reverted backwards for some reason!!

Uncle Jeff and Steph visit!

We were so fortunate to have Uncle Jeff and Steph visit tonight. They came over to help me with Adam while I got some garage sale items ready! It was so much fun! Thank you for all your help!!!

So adorable

Brent has unfortunately been out of town this week and despite that tonight was one of Adam's BEST days! We had a blast together. Now maybe it helps that he spent the night with his MiMi and PopPop and I missed him so much!

One the way home from visiting his MiMi & PopPop he immediately fell asleep in the car....I mean I just blinked and he was out. WOW that doesn't happen often. So we went to Granddad's and woke him up to visit. He had a great ol time visiting with Granddad and then when we loaded up from that visit he fell asleep without fighting it or hesitation AGAIN!

We got home and I had been telling him I got him a surprise. When we got home he looked around the room and saw his new present! (It is a Little People garage/car toy) He looked over at his new toy and sat straight up in my lap and started making his brrrrr brrrrrr car noise and hopped down with the biggest grin on his face and started playing with his new toy! It was fantastic.

We played for a long time and he went to get his shoes which meant he wanted to go outside so we went for a good walk. Upon arriving back home we ate our dinner. He did fairly good. He ate chicken and fruit.

We continued to play like crazy and yes crazy is the word. Adam laughed and laughed REAL little boy laughs! When it was closer to bath time he got really crazy. Running around the house, dive bombing me with HUGE hugs and kisses and running back around the hosue with his arms in the air. He would turn around and fall into my lap with a huge laugh and hug! It was undescribable! So cute! During bathtime he actually wanted ALL his toys so we dumped them all in the tub. He actually sorted them in the tub. ALL to one side in the water. ALL of them. He moved them one by one to one side of the tub. Can you picture it. He was sitting smack dab in the middle of the tub and he took them from one side to the other to where they were all just floating in the water on one side. Loved it!

Then while I was fixing his bottle for night night, I asked if he said night night to Maggie and that ALWAYS ALWAYS makes him stop his crying and whining and he RUNS to the back door to look out at Maggie to say night night! Can you believe it????? Then we curled up with his bottle and he went right to sleep after the bottle. When I put him in his crib he just layed there and stared up at me and then went to sleep for real! FANTASTIC! PRAISE YOUR NAME FATHER GOD!!!! I love you!

Adam ran to me today

Today, was the first TRUE day that Adam ran to me. He usually plays and wanders back to me at some point in play. Or plays and sees a book he wants and brings it to me and backs up into my lap to sit. Or just wants me to pick him up BUT today he ran to me. He was playing and I was sitting on the ground as usual watching him play. He noticed me watching him and got the biggest grin on his face and ran full force to me, fell into me for a big hug and then went back to playing. You have to understand that usually he would just stop short or do something else. Today he ran to me and gave me a hug 3 times! It was so adorable and melted my heart.

Adam...

Not too much going on! Adam is thowing balls very well. He has learned that the basketball goes in the basketball hoop and so now we play basketball. He is making mimic sounds that sound like night night, cat, duck, dog and ball.

Adam at the church nursery

Today, we dropped Adam off at the church nursery and he cried so hard when we went to leave. It was so sad. We could hear him all the way down the hall. He did NOT want us to leave. When we picked him up they were giving him a stoller ride because they said he cried off and on the entire time. I pulled him out while Brent walked down tho his actual room to sign him out and get his things and Adam went crazy crying. He wanted down and chased Brent down the hall crying until he reached Brent and got picked up by his Daddy! So sad! Yet cute!

We wet to the mall to let Adam play at the playground which he loves and while walking around the mall he fell asleep on Brent's shoulder! Cute again!

Adam ate his breakfast this morning

WOW! I know this sounds like a strange post but Adam ate so much breakfast this morning! I was so proud. He ate 1/4 piece of blueberry toast, ALL his cherrios which was probably a good handful, ALL his fruit (of course), his yogurt and his vegetable juice! WOW! So good! Good job Baby Adam!!!

Adam's haircut

So, I posted pictures about Adam's haircut but I don't think I described it.

1st of all, the place had car chairs for Adam to sit in which started the entire experience off great! Adam was fantastic and adorable! He acted like he was driving that car the entire time. He flinched a little when she sprayed water on his hair but recovered and kept driving the car. He was so good the entire time. Although, the girl brought out the shears and you could see Adam hunch his shoulders like he wasn't sure. He kinda paused with driving and started to side eye the lady. You could tell he was starting to be a little unsure. Finally, he had enough and turned around and started pointing at her. Then he looked right at her, pointed is finger at her and shook his head no and said uh hu!! Very clear! She finished with the shears and Adam stopped his crying and started driving again! We let him play a little longer afterward! What a blast day!

Random things

We are not kidding when Brent and I both heard this....

I was getting ready to change Adam's diaper and Adam so cutely ventured into the office where Brent was. I had been talking to Adam trying to get him to come get his diaper changed. I was standing in the doorway trying to coax Adam out to come get a diaper changed. I said, 'Come on Adam, let's go get your diaper changed'. He plopped down on his bottom into a sitting position and Brent and I BOTH heard he say 'I don't wanna'. Clear as day!!! Now, I am sure at this stage that is not at all what he said or meant but it was so funny.

Labor Day RVing Weekend

Wow, Adam had a blast on our first RV camping trip. He ran around the RV like he owned the place. We pulled him all around the park and gave him stoller rides and let him walk until his heart content. And I have to tell you the truth, I don't think he walked until his heart was content....he could have kept going and going and going. He was exhausting. So many times I really was letting him to whatever he wanted but as soon as I pulled him away from the river or a bridge he would throw a temper tantrum. He truly wanted to do EVERYTHING he wanted to do.

He was the hit of the campground too. Such a ham.

MiMi and PopPop had a good time with him too.

It was a lot of work though because there were alot of things he couldn't get into of course so we had to occupy him to keep him out of trouble. It became very exhausting.

Overall, a fantastic trip!

Adam's Daddy came home today! YEA!

Brent arrived home today from North Carolina right at dinner time! Super nice. I think he enjoyed watching Adam run around and laugh.

I thought we were being sweet because we made a cute Welcome Home sign that we hung across the entryway. I wrote on it but Adam drew lines and dots all over it! I thought it was cute. We also baked cookies to welcome Brent home and light a nice smelling candle to welcome him upon entering our home! I thought it was a nice jesture, but I am tooting my own horn. I thought it was super cute. Not to mention, I asked mom to babysit on Tuesday so I could clean the kitchen and living area top to bottom and get all the laundry done before Brent got home! So welcome home to a nice clean smelling house!

Dr. visit

Yesterday, Adam started a little cough that didn't sound normal. I thought it was a little odd. He is also getting his molars in so he has been super cranky and seems to be a little more sleepy. Anyway, last night I was putting him to bed and while holding him thought a felt a rumble when he breathed so this morning I called the Dr. despite all my hesitation.

Good thing we went in. The Dr. was like 'is he wheezing'. I was like well I feel a rumble. (not sure if that is the same in her mind) Anyway, after listening to him she was like OMG....yes he is wheezing. Good thing you brought him in. She prescribed a breathing treatment...aka a nebulizer. It is HORRIBLE to give him! Adam hates to be controlled and holding him down to up a mask up to his face is torture! Not a fun experience. She also checked his ears and he had a small ear infection too!!!! He has never had an ear infection. I hate that he has an ear infection. Anyway, that was our day.

Brent out of town

Brent has been out of town all week and coming home today! We are soooo excited! Welcome Home Dad!

What I didn't know

I didn't know as a mother:
1. I would have to pack books in the car because sometimes Adam will go to sleep right when we arrive at the grocery store. So instead of waking him, I let him sleep. Which leaves me sitting in a parking lot for 20+ minutes with nothing to do.
2. That Adam would not eat food but will put anything off the floor in his mouth without spitting it out.
3. That I would walk up and down and up and down and up and down stairs just because Adam enjoys it.
4. That I would enjoy shopping for Adam more than myself.

You wouldn't believe it!

So, my last post mentioned that Adam went to sleep in his stroller around 6PM tonight. He stayed asleep through me moving him from the stoller to inside. I decided to lay him down for a few seconds in the living room thinking all the comotion would naturally wake him up. Nope! Well, he did wake up several times and would roll over and look at me and go back to sleep. I couldn't believe it. I then actually moved him to his crib! He stayed asleep. He did wake up around 8 however. No big deal. We just ate dinner. He ate it ALL! We then took a bath. He was so darn adorable. He would roll over on his stomach and 'swim'. He would look at me and roll over again and again and again! When it was time to get out, He would fall down and lay down in the tub and kick the drain closed. He then....wait for it.....layed his head down on the tub floor and layed down. So adorable. He did it a number of times....layed his head down! Then he finally set up and raised his hands straight up in the hair for me to get him and waited!

Then we came and fixed a bottle and I told him it was bedtime. I went to his room all the while telling him it was bedtime. He followed me all the way to his room, grabbed a book, climbed in my lap and we read his story. We said our prayers, sang Jesus Loves Me. I told him he was going to his bed and I would get him in the morning. I put him down, he sat up and then stood up as he always does. He watched me go to the door. AND this time instead of screaming, he just watched me leave. He finally layed down and went to sleep!

WHAT A DAY!!!!!

Went for a walk and Adam fell asleep

Soooooo, today I took a late walk....5PM. I did the shortest loop we have in the neighborhood and all of a sudden I look down and the boy that doesn't nap is SLEEPING. I got home, tried to rile him up a little when moving him from the stroller and he stayed sound asleep. I layed him down on the couch thinking the movement will rile him up. No. He even rolled over and stayed asleep. So now, I am having the Mom debate of do I let him sleep or do I wake him up so that we can still have a normal nighttime routine. This has never happened. What do I do??? Oh, and his naps are getting better. Today his nap was for an hour!

Our Favorites

We thought we should list some of our favorite times with Adam before time gets away from us and we forget.

1. As an infant we LOVE him sleeping like a frog on our shoulder.
2. As a 1 year old, we still LOVE when he falls a sleep on our shoulder. Except now his legs have to curl up!
3. I LOVE when Adam puts his little hand on me. He might just place it on my leg or on my shoulder but he will randomly just decide he wants to touch us and will just sit his little sweet and on us.
4. I LOVE now that he is walking, when he reaches a point on the ground like a step up or down he will freeze cold turkey, stop, turn around and look up at us and reach his hand up to hold ours so we can help him up, down or over and obstacle.
5. We LOVE his baby babble. It is sooooo darn clear. It is definately his own language.
6. We LOVE that sometimes Adam will just laugh at nothing. Just starts laughing.
7. We LOVE that he has an outloud, real boy laugh!
8. We LOVE that he clearly says Bye Bye and waves.
9. We LOVE that he always says BrrrrrrBrrrrrr every time he sees a car!
10. I love that when I ask him to 'squeeze harder' he will come give me a hug!

Adam has a slumber party

Adam spent the night with his MiMi and PopPop tonight! Yea for everyone!

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

1:30 on the dot and Adam woke up

So, it is 1:30 and just like clockwork Adam woke up 30 minutes to the second from his nap! I have been leaving him in his crib to see if he will roll back over and go to sleep.

HOWEVER......today was a horrible day!!!! I just so happen to be trying to be helpful and solve some technical email problems we are having so I contacted AT&T during Adam's nap time! BIG mistake. Because the first thing they do is of course all this automatic questions that you have to answer. Usually, I am smart enough to by pass this nonsense by hitting enough keys like 0 that it eventually gets me to a real person. Not this time. When the automation ended they ended with.......go shut down all your email, computer and modum and them call us back. Can you believe that? So, I finally got hold of someone and he askes me to go give him a model number on the back of the modum . I refused b/c the LAST thing I wanted to do after all the trouble we had been having was waste my time by giving them stupid numbers. Well, I did it anyway against my better judgement and GUESS WHAT!!!!! ADAM heard me in the hall!!!!!!! So he started SCREAMING and crying again! Well, I hung up with the stupid AT&T guy after yelling at him. Then I went in there and actually picked Adam up which was a worse mistake b/c I refused to do that, he needs to learn to roll over and go back to sleep. So I tried to tell him nap time is not over and I put him back in his crib and he is still screaming at me. ARG! AT&T!!!!!!!!!!!!!

temper tantrum

So today after we returned home from paying some bills, I went to change Adam's diaper and he went CRAZY! Screaming, crying, real tears, kicking, stiffening his legs, turning red....everything you name it. The whole time I was trying to ask him what he wanted. When we got done he stomped off and continued to scream and cry and throw a tantrum. He would throw himself on the floor and cry. Finally at one point, he just layed down and I swear dozed off for a few minutes until I went over to check on him. It was like he threw one of his nap tantrums and then laid down on the hardwood and went to sleep. weird!!! What do I have instore???

Naptime today......he had been fussy ever since his little tantrum so as soon as 1PM hit I was putting him in his crib. Well, it was really 12:57 and by 1PM he was asleep. It is 1:07 now so we will see how long he stays down for. I will keep you posted.

Praise a lujia!

Adam woke up yesterday and today at 7:45!!!!!!!!

Adam sleeping habit today

I guess this is starting my blog on Adam and his sleep. Adam went right to sleep last night without a fight....guess he was tired and slept until 7:45 this morning. I was able to get him before he even cried this morning....which I like. Stop all that crying! However, as always, nap is a different story. I was talking to him alot of the day about his nap will be at 1PM. At 1PM, we began our nap routine. He cried for 10-15minutes and went to sleep. Only slept for his normal 30 minutes so I left him in there to see if he would roll back over and go back to sleep since I know 30 minutes is not enough. He screamed for 25 minutes and then rolled back over to finish his nap. We will see how long he goes.

Sooooo, he finally went back to sleep for about 20-25 minutes! So that gave him about a total of a 50-55 minute nap!

Adam and napping

Those 2 words are like an oximoron. We are working on his naps still at a year old. It is exhausting. I have resorted to telling him nap time is at ___ time and he stays in there until nap time is over. Today it took 45 minutes to get him to lay down. And yes, he was tired. Before this he curled up in my lap and went to sleep but as soon as I put him in the crib....bam wide awake and screaming.

Let's see how long he stays asleep.

Exhausted today

Whew, today was a rough day. I really am trying not to be one of those people who make you think everything is soooooo great! But at the same time I don't want to 'vent' or complain to much! I just feel that being honest is important for the future. Adam will need to know the good and bad things for when he has children. Also, I think women compare and try to make sure that everything is perfect too much. Love me for who I am!

Anyway, today was one of the real first days that I wished I had a babysitter next door. Adam was so cranky today. It could have been anything from not sleeping his 11-12 hours at night, not ever taking naps, not really eating like he should or he is starting his tantrums early! It was all day. And I questioned everything especially my parenting skills. I do believe I could have done better with Adam. He probably should have been put on a massive schedule! I mean almost to an alarm clock and he probably would be so different. I just thought I would cater to his every need since afterall, I do stay home. Anyway.......tomorrow is fast aproaching and another day will be gone!

Adam talking

I must note so that I don't forget all the things Adam is saying. It is not super clear but I am pretty positive he is talking.

He of course, says Mammamaaa and Dadddadda but not always clear and not often.
He says Bye Bye extremely CLEAR! That was is true first words. He now clearly says it to anyone leaving and waves Bye Bye. If a toys says it he will say it back too. When we do our good night rounds too instead of saying nighty night, he says Bye Bye.
He kinda says Cat but it sounds like cAT!
He does alot of the D's. He will say Da at our Dog but the best one is Duck! He will point at ducks and say DucDuc
Sometimes he will say PopPop or PaPa
And he probably TRUE 2nd word is That. He points at so much stuff and says 'that' 'that'.......like he truly wants to know what that is! great stuff!
Oh and he says 'uh uh' and shakes his head no and says 'uhhhh ohh' sometimes before he drops something. So those are probably his 3rd and 4th words if you want to call it that or his 1st and 2nd phrases!

Adam claps and dances

Adam for several months now has been clapping. He learned that from his baby can read books. Although, not much else since. But anyway, since then almost EVERY time music comes on he will clap. Just about on cue! It is so great! Lately, when he hears music or a beat he will hold on to something and stick his bottom out and bounce, just like he is shaking his little bottom.

play grounds

We have taken Adam a couple of times lately to the little play grounds in the mall and he LOVES it. So many kids take him by the hand and try to show him around. He just runs and laughs and loves all the kids he meets.

He enjoys going up steps and some of these playgrounds have soft cushion steps and then a cushion slide on the other side. Adam loves to climb the steps but stops at the top. Alot of times he shimmies down feet first back down the steps b/c that is how we taught him. feet first feet first feet first. But this week he went up the steps and finally decided on his own to turn around on his belly and go feet first down the slide! He was sooooo cute....he just shimmied right down that slide on his belly. Adorable! He is always so proud of himself too!

Banged up

This week we were letting Adam play on the back porch with the water hose. He was having such a good time until he tripped over the water hose and got a massive bloody lip and a scratch from under his nose all the way down his chin. He looked so beat up. It was super sad. But I am sure many more will come. Still doesn't stop the sadness of his bruised up face.

Adam walking and running and sign language

Adam really started walking pretty much on his bday! So adorable. Now he loves to play chase and hide and seek. He laughs a deep little boy belly laugh when he does it and it is so much FUN! I have finally started to really enjoy him. He is my little buddy.

I have been trying to teach Adam little sign language signs. He has never done them until recently. He very clearly does the 'more' sign when he gets hungry or wants more. It is so clear and we are so proud. However, it must be told that sometimes I am not sure if he really understands completely b/c he will have food on his plate and still sign more. Of course, he isn't wanting what is on his tray. He doesn't touch most things. But he LOVES blueberries, we nicknamed BB's. So we can't help but wonder if he is looking at his tray and wondering where the BBs are and signs more.........maybe he things 'more' means more BBs? I don't know. Regardless, he learned it and uses it and we are so proud of his small communication! That is a big deal to me.

Adam smacks

Adam is now doing many funny things.......his personality is ha-larious! When we give him something hre really likes he smacks....for real! So cute.

Adam's Birthday Party

Adam celebrated his 1st birthday on July 31, 2009. He actually spent that Friday with his Aunt Shanna! They had a blast together.

The gollowing day, we had Adam's actual party! Adam had a fantastic time seeing all his friends and family! We all had fun and appreciated everyone who came out!

Adam's Birthday party

Adam had his first Birthday on Friday, July 31st! He hung out for the day with his Aunt Shanna so that we could get ready for his bday party on Saturday! We celebrated with Adam on Friday night and then got ready for his party! Saturday was a blast! Adam even took a tiny, tiny cat nap before his party! He had a blast! He is so loved! So many of our friends and family came to the party! It was hard to enjoy the party ourselves we spent the entire time making the rounds and makings sure everyone was doing ok. I thought the food was great and the cake I made was so good. All in my opinion of course! Adam loved ALL his gifts. I was happy for them too so that we have some new things to play with. What a blast! Oh and Adam really started to walk on his bday. Granted he has taken steps but pretty much on his bday he was walking all around the house! He is so cute!

Adam will be 1 in 20 minutes

Awe!!!!!!!!!!!! Our sweet baby boy is turning one in 20 minutes. I am going to have to hold myself back from going into his room and hugging him! I could set my alarm for his actual birth time at 5:39 but I don't think so.

Wow, Adam has done so much in a year as I know is customary but I had no idea! He has been so cute lately. He mimics our sounds so much. If I laugh, he laughs...if I screech when I laugh, he screeches when he laughs! So cute! So cute!

Tonight, Brent and I were looking in on him and he sat straight up in bed. Brent and I just froze. It was so funny. Few seconds later, Adam laid back down and went to sleep. Adorable.

Adam and his baby steps

Adam started taking up to 8+ steps a couple of weeks ago but regressed for some reason. He also is going crazy with wanting us to pick him up all the time! ALL THE TIME! But tonight, he walked 1/2 way across the room a number of times. He would still fall in the end but he was so much fun to watch! Good job Baby Adam!

Adam at play group

This week, Adam and I went to a play group with Kellee & Tyler (8 mo) Moll, Lissett & Evelyn (2 mo) Bickford and Jill & Max (3 mo) Ferrell. We really had a good time chatting with other moms. Although, I have to honestly say that every time I have gotten with other moms it seems I spend a lot of time watching Adam. I end up leaving thinking what did we talk about. Well, of course, all we talk about are our kids but this play group, I really chased Adam every where. Adam of course was the oldest and he was every where. He was slamming all of Tyler's toys and making so much noise. Kellee said that toy had never made so much noise. Tyler is such a layed back, sweet baby that never cries! Anyway, Adam was just the energizer baby! Climbing in and on everything. AND he threw so many temper tantrums. I couldn't believe it! It was slightly on the embarrassing side so much that I had to leave. Anyway, it was still fun!

Adam with a week to go!

Adam has a week to go until his 1st birthday!

He started walking last week but has regressed. He always seemed to like the baby steps and then fall into your arms. Well, I guess he liked the fall into our arms part so much that now he only stands and falls like a tree. Hmmmmmmm

Today, he too 2 steps toward something and missed the edge and fell and got a busted lip! So sad!! You can even see the 2 teeth mark on his mouth.

This week we visited Brent's dad, aka Granddad. Adam went to a park and crawled all over the place. Had a blast. We also went on a walk around the pond and fed ducks and by the time we left he was pointing at any duck he saw and saying dudu du. We were also showing him fish and he started to say ish...ish....ish. ALMOST!!!

Adam plays peek-a-boo

Tonight, we went to meet MiMi and PopPop to get their new RV! Wow, Adam LOVED it! He just raced around screaming with excitement.

But, later we went to dinner at Babins with them and Granddad. Adam made goo goo eyes at anyone who would pay attention! So darn adorable but at one point Adam picked up a napkin and put it over his face and dropped it down to see if we were looking. Of course, we were! So he did it again and again and again. He was playing peek-a-boo with us! So cute! I never really thought he would play peek-a-boo but he DID!

Adam lately

What to say? Adam is so much fun! He has started to pounce on things! It is so cute. I will try to explain. He will be holding on to something and let go and he gets his arms all ready (imagine if you were about to do a measurement of how far you can jump without running and you get your arms and legs all ready to get your maximum length) so anyway, Adam gets his arms all ready and his face gets all excited and he just pounces on pillows or stuffed animals or anything. Adam just received an awesome chair...his size...his very own chair with his name on it and everything from his Uncle Brian and Aunt Amy. WOW! That was a great gift b/c now Adam pounces all over it! So funny. He has also begun to let go and take 2 or so steps and just fall into our arms! Besides his laugh and his angel sleeping face that might be my favorite part. He is so cute getting ready to fall into my arms. I love it. Today I counted 8 steps to me. They are baby steps of course but it was 1,2,3,4, 5,6,7,8 really fast and then he fell into me. I love it!

Tonight, Brent went into his room to tuck him in and check on him for the last time and Brent put his hand on Adam's chest just to check on him and Adam smiled in his sleep and then laughed.....a real laugh! Isn't that cute!!!!

On another note, I need to start being a little more honest if I want to keep these posts for Adam in the future. He needs to know he was not always perfect. Adam STILL has a horrible time napping. It is so heartbreaking. Today, he just screamed bloody murder to me! He was so darn tired and rubbing his eyes but refused to sleep. I had to go get a bottle and curl him up in my arms and he took that bottle and went right to sleep for his nap. Keep in mind, he already had his morning bottle and just finished a big breakfast that he refused any more bites from. He was not hungry for that bottle he just still doesn't know how to sleep. Now we can all blame me for this but I have tried and tried to just put him in his crib and tried a naptime routine and it doesn't work. He screams for an hour and works himself up into a fit to where he is not tired anymore anyway and then I have to get him out of the crib b/c he refuses to sleep. For months, we have been pacing with him on our shoulder and patting his back and this seems to be the only way to calm him down to rest and then sleep. Just these last 2 weeks that doesn't really work either. I don't know!!!!! I wish SuperNanny could come to my house and fix it. If naps were solved Adam would be PERFECTION b/c everything else is great. Just when he refuses to nap he becomes cranky b/c he is tired and everything else stems from that. Oh and when he does nap it is for 30 minutes on the dot!! You can time it. (unless he is sleeping in our lap then sometimes...sometimes it is longer)
I say all this because...well...I guess I saw a small part of an Oprah show where Mom's were being truthful and it made me realize that if close friends would actually admit when they were having a tough time then maybe some moms wouldn't feel alone with what they are going through. I am so THANKFUL that Adam is healthy, smart, beautiful, funny, smiley, laughy, flirty on and on and on...but we have our days. I don't want to complain anymore I want to be grateful but at the same time I don't want to hide that we have our days! There are days I cry. There are days I laugh and dance. We are a normal family. Adam....one day baby when you read this and your babies are not sleeping you will know that you did the same thing to me! :)

Adam goes to the beach

Adam just returned from his first trip to the beach! Granted it was Galveston but we had fun anyway! Adam actually loved the waves and the sand. We were really worried about that but he laughed and had a great time!

We had a few family members visit and that made the trip fun as well.

Adam, at 11 months old, knew we were on vacation. He stayed up late every night. He seriously fought us every night to go to sleep. How did he know? But he was cute doing it. He jumped on the bed and bounced around. He would laugh and make noises. It was so much fun.

Ever since we returned home, Adam has been bouncing of the walls too. He refuses to nap. It is a huge fight yet he is so tired. He becomes so fussy but then will act like he is not tired. Hopefully, it will all return to normal soon.

Pictures from our trip will be posted soon.

What a blast

WOW! I know I have said this already but Adam is so much fun! He plays peek-a-boo now. Which blows my mind because I don't really play that game too much because he has never really enjoyed it. But he does enjoy playing peek around a corner. He will peek around a chair and go back and hide and peek around and so on and so forth! So adorable!

He plays chase and sometimes throws things back and forth to us!

We have said this numerous times but he laughs so much! Laughs out loud! That is the BEST part ever! In fact, if he is listening to adults talk and we all start telling a story and laugh......he will laugh because we all are. Can you believe that? It makes me laugh harder.

He can now clap when asked....well if he chooses to. He will do 'arms up' and he can point to his toes when asked! FANTASTIC!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Wow! Really?

Adam is growing so fast! He is becoming such a big, good, little boy! First of all, he is a big boy. Lots of people comment about his size when we tell them how old he is. He has such a cute little pot belly and he isn't even eating table food yet! In fact, he really still only eats his baby food. Daily, I put finger foods on his tray so he will eat 'chunky' food and he doesn't even try it. If I give it to him mixed up in his baby food he will tongue the chunks and spit them out. He won't eat any meat, grinded up or in pieces. He still won't even touch fruit if I cut it up and give it to him in pieces. He is so picky about texture and yes, I let him play with his food too to get him use to how it all feels and that hasn't helped.

Just in the past week, he has learned to 'clap' and 'arms up'. Most times on cue but he has to want to do it to do it. He won't just do it if asked. It is always on his terms. He also has learned to bounce. That is fun because now every so often in his exersaucer he will jump which is fun! He knows how to put things in and out of buckets and also knows how to put tops and caps back on to things which is fun!

He is so smart and so much fun!

Almost 10 months old

Adam will reach 10 months old this week! Wow! Time flys! I guess that is what they say.....time flys when you are having fun.

Adam is a handful. He gets into everything and is so proud of himself when he does and throws a temper tantrum when he can't!

He still laughs and smiles so much! That is the best thing.

He has finally started sleeping through the night about 2 weeks ago! YEA for me!!!!!!

Adam lately

Adam now has 6 teeth and has bitten us a number of times. OUCH!

Adam is doing great! (except for NOT sleeping) He has a fantastic fun personality. He explores and glances at us to make sure we are watching. He smiles anytime he learns or finds something new. What am I talking about? He smiles at almost anything and anyone! He LOVES his Daddy. You can see him looking for Brent at any point of the day. If Brent walks into the room, Adam goes crazy with smiles and laughter. Adam will stare at Brent with a huge grin on his face and when Brent looks at him, Adam will burst into laughter! It is so much fun having a baby that laughs!

Adam has been on a roadtrip to Arkansas to vacation with our friends the Greenwalts and Wynns and his friend, Cody. Adam did great in the car. (with me sitting in the backseat with him)

We are so proud of him and so happy we have him! What a gift from God!

at almost 8 months

Adam is such a big boy! He now pulls up on everything. Do you remember the worried blogs where I was so concerned that Adam would not crawl? Well, he scootcrawls everywhere.

He also babbles Daddada, Bababa and Mamama. He has started scrunching up his little nose. He also this week honestly learned the 'game' of dropping a toy and having someone pick it up. At first, he just dropped it on accident. Then, he did it to hear the noise on the ground. Now he realizes it gets picked up. Funny!

Overnight roadtrip

Adam and I ventured out yesterday with MiMi to go see my sister, Autumn and my nephew, Peyton. They live in Denison, Texas. It was a long drive in the rain but it was an even longer drive home with Peyton and Adam both in the car. Peyton played really well with Adam. Adam has begun to play the drop game where he drops toys and laughs hysterically when you pick them up and he drops them again. Let me restate that...he laughs hysterically when Peyton picks them up. He had a blast with Peyton. The drive back home was actually good. Adam slept entirely from Shermann to past Corsicanna. We ate at Sam's Restaurant in Fairfield. Then I had to sit in the back and entertain Adam the remainder of the way home.

Regardless, we had a big overnight. I love seeing my sister and nephew. Peyton is adorable and so sweet and smart. Really, that boy is smart. He talks up a storm and is sharp as a tack. He doesn't miss a thing. Wow, I love him!

Visit from Amber & Cody

This week, we had a visit from our friends Amber and Cody. What a blast! Cody and Adam had a great time together. They crawled all over each other and shared their toys. They played bumper cars in the driveway and laughed. It was great! Amber and I find ourselves just watching them with full attention that at times we forget to talk. We can just watch them for hours. Of course, I could talk to Amber for hours. I find myself wishing we were neighbors!

Anyway, enjoy some of the pictures!

Adam's first visit to the Houston Rodeo

Saturday, we all went to the Houston Rodeo. Adam did great! He loved being around people...as always. We thought in typical Dunagan fashion, we would be there for a good amount of time but leave by 3PM. Well, Adam specifically told us he wanted to stay longer. We spend just about the entire day at the rodeo. We saw a new born calf just born. We saw the baby chicks hatch. We watched some steer, heifer and bull shows. We shopped, ate and took pictures with the sheep, pigs and longhorn! What a big day!!!

Although, we did all that......I think Adam's favorite part was the shuttle to and from the Rodeo. He LOVED being in a vehicle not in a car seat. (as scary as that made Mom and Dad!!!) He stood up and peered over seats and pulled the hair of the women in front of us. He made friends with all his neighbors and cooed and babbled! What fun he had at the 2009 Rodeo!

Rodeo Run

This past weekend, we walked in the Houston Rodeo Run. I walked with Adam in the baby bjourn. He did FANTASTIC. He never cried. Only once, he got a little fussy for about 1 minute and we took him out for a few minutes and put him back in and then the race started. He was a huge hit! We all had a blast.

Adam lately

Adam is now 7 months old! He is on the move too. He scootcrawls all over the house and the best thing thus far is his walker. He is so unexplainably happy in his walker. It is almost like he is telling us......see I've been telling you to just let me go and I would be a happy baby! He RUNS in that thing and will slam into the wall and reverse back. He will even turn his body around and looking behind him just like he was driving a car to back up. It is so funny. Absolutely adorable.

The last couple of days, I have taken Adam outside in his walker and let him just go to town on the driveway. We meet Brent out there when it is time to come home and just like our sweet animals, I think Adam now recognizes the truck. When Brent gets out of the truck Adam will actually turn the walker and go straight for him. Once again, absolutely adorable.

This past week, Adam crawled up on the bottom side of the coffee table. Today, he was going to get one of his blocks and it feel off the other side and Adam went on after it with full purpose. He just slid right off and kept going. No bones about it. And what do we say to that? Absolutely adorable.

We have now made it through all the vegetables and almost all the fruit. I thought apples were his favorites but today he opened so wide for peaches. In fact, I haven't seem him open that wide yet. It was great or dare I say...Absolutely adorable.

visit with our friends Amber and Cody

Today, Adam and I went to visit our freinds Cody and Amber in Bastrop, Texas. We had a blast. The boys are so adorable. Almost too cute. Amber and I had so much fun laughing at them. It was fun watching them scootcrawl all over the place. They were much more interested in each other than the last time. The watched what the other would do. They still seem to take cues from each other. When one would fuss sometimes the other would start.

We are looking forward to our next visit already.

6 plus months

Adam has been so cute scootcrawling around the house. Yesterday, I cleared out an area and let Adam play while I went down the hall. All of a sudden, I heard ahhhhhhhh ah ahhhhhh ah? ahhhh ah? ahhhhh ah? Just like he was lost and screaming for assistance. I went back and turned the hall and he was at teh crosspoints of the hall crying out like....ah where are you? which way did you go? He couldn't figure out which way I went. It was so cute. Today, we spread out a huge king size blanket out on the floor and we watched him as he went all the way off the blanket across the floor. so adorable.

We also went to the mall recently and Adam loves it. He looks all around and starres at people. Most people stare back and give funny faces and Adam would laugh at them. It was fun.

He has been bursting into laughs lately which is fun.

He also plays hide and seek in his crib. He will wake up sometimes and we find him playing in his crib. When we go in there he will pull down the bumper pad and stare at us through the slats of his crib. It is hilarious!

Adam updates

Adam has been growing by leaps and bounds! Not to mention all the things he has accomplished in just a matter of weeks.

We had our 6 month dr. appointment and he is in the 70-90% for weight - 19lbs 12oz. and he is in the 95% for length - 28inches. WOW! We loved it! He just talked and rollled and scoot crawled all around on the exam table! We think the dr. was impressed. What am I talking about....we were impressed.

Adam is so close to crawling. (and here I was all worried he would skip it) For a baby who SCREAMED on tummy time and rolled over ASAP, he sure loves to be on his tummy and scootcrawl. He will get up on his hands and knees and kinda rock and then move forward to his belly and then get up and do it all over again. He finally does barrel rolls all over the floor. It is so fun to watch.

One of the funniest things is he always remembers when we hide things. He will also scream like crazy if we take a remote/cell phone etc. away. He wants those things so bad. Not to mention, he still loves cups so if we are drinking coffee and take the cup out of his range he will wail! He has also found a few plugs around the house. Not the socket but the cord. We have pulled him away for a cord in his room tons of times and he will immediately turn that little body of his around on his belly and go right back. It is so funny but scary at the same time.

I guess that is some of the biggest things! Hope all is well...if anyone still reads these.

Adam's teeth broke skin

Adam just had his 2 bottom teeth break through today! Wow! I feel like he is already growing up so fast! I can't believe it!

He also did an amazing job at the crawl lunge forward today. He got up on his hands and knees and would then push off his feet and land on his belly. He would scooch a little and then do it again. He made it all the way across his Granddad's floor! I was so proud. I tried to capture it on camera but the camera had a delay and by the time it took, Adam would be on his belly.

What a great day!

started vegetables

As mentioned, on Wednesday, we started Adam on vegetables. We gave him the green beans for 3 days and nights and today was the first day he had peas!

Really, Adam is not interested in food. He is far to busy looking around. He wants nothing to do with his cereal or the vegetables. Funny, the reason we started him on vegetables was to change it up. We were thinking that something new would get him excited. He made only a few faces but nothing to different than when he first tried cereal. He tightlips his mouth and refuses any bites. Maybe a few minutes later he might open up for a bite b/c he forgot he probably didn't like the taste. Hopefully, he will begin to like it all soon.

We did alos give him a graham cracker and he did enjoy nawing on that.

Adam lately

Well, I know it has been a while since I have typed. Adam is doing well. We started his vegetables today. Green beans! He took 2 bites this AM with a nasty face and this evening wanted nothing to do with them! He even made a gag noise. FUNNY. He really has been a lot of fun. He sure does smile at us. He will give smiles away to others but he LOVES to laugh and smile at his mom and dad.

Adam also enjoys going out and about. He loves to look around at new things especially new people. He doesn't understand it is not polite to stare. :)

cry it out?

Well, Adam has been sleeping through the night for a while now. Well for the most part anyway. He doesn't if he is sick or for who knows the other reasons. Anyway, we are trying to bump is bedtime to a little earlier and tonight was the first night we tried it and he is WAILING right now. I am so sad to have to let him cry it out but he is smart and knows if I pick him up he will cry again tomorrow for the same result. Anyway...this time around is hard.

not hanging anymore! Brent and I took Adam to the Mercer Arboretum park after church on Sunday! Adam had a blast running aroun and trying to hang on the monkey bars. When it was time to go he looked at Brent and I and said '5 more minutes'. It was hilarious!!! Now he says it all the time. Mommy, 5 minutes!

so funny

I was giving Adam his bath tonight and all of a sudden he just layed down in the tub! He just stayed there like he was just floating in a pool! I could not believe it! Just layed down! Started playing and laughing! So cute. - January 30, 2010

We went on a stroller walk at a random time and I looked down and Adam was sound asleep. I was able to move him from the stroller to the couch and he stayed sound asleep. He had about a 45 minute nap!

Adam scootcrawled all the way across the floor and beelined it for his dumptruck that is HIDDEN behind the chair. I put it there in the morning and this was at night. How he knew hours later to randomly beeline it to behind the chair, I have no idea. AND he didn't even see me put the dump truck back there. He was loaded in the car seat getting ready to go!
