Driving down the road we pass a school bus that is obviously an business school bus because it is painted green!
Adam laughs hard! Mommy, hahahahaha there went a GREEN school bus! hahahahah Green! My favorite! Not Yellow! Green!!

Ok! So we head off to Chik-Fil-A just for Adam!! (ok so we enjoy it too)
This particular Chik-Fil-A happens to be beside a McDonalds.
We pull up and Adam says, 'MCDONALDS' 'I want to go to McDonalds too!' He doesn't change his mind to go to McDonalds instead but he wants to do both!!!! Where does he learn that?

Sunday
He woke up asking for Chik-Fil-A. We told him that it was Sunday and on the days we go to church Chick-Fil-A is closed. He then says, 'McDonalds not closed!'

Where does he learn this stuff????

Adam gets a toy box and it becomes an adventure

We put a toy box in Adam's room. Today, during nap, I went upstairs to tell Adam to stay in bed because he was getting out. When I went in to his room, I couldn't find Adam. (I just saw him on the monitor) I looked around the corner to his bathroom nook, I looked around the corner by his reading nook. I looked in his closet. I was about to panic when he jumped up from hiding in the toy box! It was funny.

Me - looking at some crocs for Adam. Looking at navy blue b/c they are a little less obtrusive. Meanwhile, Adam is telling me Green, green, green. I tell him that I was getting him navy blue b/c they will match with more. And he said, I want green. Again, I say I was getting blue and he says But Mom, green is my favorite! How do you argue with that? So green it is!!!!!

Dear Adam

My dear sweet Adam,
Today, I am thankful to be your Mom! We all have known you were a gift from God. But today, I want you to know that you truly were a gift to me from God! Adam, I am not a perfect Mom! Praise be to Jesus that I don't have to be. He has saved me and made it ok to be just Mom or should I say Mommy. Lately, at 2 and a half you will shorten my name to Mom and it seems funny because you say it so matter of fact....like Mom. Hey, Mom. You like to say. I cringe because you are my baby and I need you to still call me Mommy. Anyway, back on task. I am not a perfect Mom but I believe I am perfect for you! God wouldn't have it any other way! He gave you to me with full intentions and wisdom! Adam, I think you have taught me how to honestly be a little more laid back. (not sure if your Daddy would agree) I still have many moments. But let's be honest. There are many things I have done that many, many 1st time mothers would never do. I attribute that to you. You have helped me look at life differently and that is that life is just passing. From day one, I have been open to share you with the people we love. I have wanted all to experience your joy! I find many mothers would not have been so free with their first baby. Because of that, I believe you are open and very loving to our friends and family. I believe I am more laid back with life. I have found that I need you to learn and sometimes learning requires falling. I have not been a mother that walks around holding padding to cushion your falls. I encourage you when you hop back up! Because of this, I believe you are independant. Oh let's be honest, you were born with independence and strong will! Whew!!!!

Adam, at 2 and a half you amaze me! I love you on your own you will fold your hands and say your Amens. Last night, this was your prayer. 'Dear God, thank you for MiMi, PopPop, Granddaddy, Mommy and Daddy. Amen' So sweet! Lately, you will just run up to me, hug me and say 'love you too'. So sweet! Awe you are a sweet, tender-hearted, loving, strong-willed, smart, funny....very funny, little boy! I love you!

Mothers Day 2011

Today, I am in awe of my amazing Heavenly Father! Well, shouldn't I always be in awe? The difference of today is being a Mother! I know, I know...this is my 2nd Mothers day but maybe before today I just felt more like motherhood was exhausting. TODAY, I felt honored. I felt favor from my Father. He chose of all people to give Adam to me! Why me? Why did I deserve such a wonderful gift? What an honor that God has trusted me to raise this little boy to be a man on his knees. And now to have a baby girl on the way. Thank you for the blessing of being a Mother.

29 almost 30 weeks

So, I haven't blogged once about our sweet Baby Claire on the way! She has kind of gotten short changed with all the reading and journaling and blogging. Nothing out of the ordinary. This pregnancy has been safer than Adam's. But I am much bigger! This week, I feel like I am 40 weeks pregnant. I am starting to have some stronger pregnancy symptoms. Sciatic nerve pain, hip and joint and muscle pain! Can't believe I have 2 months more to go! Whew!!!!

First week of May 2011

What a week! We all got what I thought was food poisoning but was really a virus that has spread to alot of our friends and family. Hit Brent on an airplane to London! Yikes. Adam was so pathetic sick. AWE! Any parent can relate. I won't go into details but after he got well he would just talk about being sick in his bed. He just understood it all. BIG thanks to my Mom who came to help me but then got sick herself and then my Dad got sick. so sad!!!

Enough of all that.....

Adam made me laugh so hard today. He pulled on Claire's bloomers and was honestly prancing all around the house. Yes, I let him. It was so funny!!!!!

On our stroller walk today he was asking me 'what's that?' over and over again. At one point, I honestly didn't know so I made the 'I don't know' sound. You know the one. The sound that is like uhhhh u uhhhhh. You know the sound that means 'I don't know'. Then Adam said, 'don't say that Mommy. don't say uhhhhh u uhhhhh.' It was so funny!

Last thing, I sat here and watched him run to the potty. of course not potty. come back but naked. So he took his pants and diaper off at potty. Came back. got wipes out. wiped himself. layed down. wiped himself again. get diapers out. put his own diaper on correctly. then his shorts on correctly. AND HE CANT GET POTTY TRAINED!!!!!!!!

I am in awe! Thank you to all my friends and family!

This past weekend, I had the most amazing baby shower! I find myself anxious today. Anxious to make sure all my friends and family know how much I appreciate and love them! Thank you, Shanna, Amber and Jessica for hosting a perfect baby girl shower. Thank you for the vision that was fullfilled! I loved every single detail! Thank you for all the flowers! Beautiful! The vases that were handmade decorated were perfect. Thank you for the diaper cake which went perfectly with everything in the home! And was perfect with my personality as well! Thank you for the magnet favors. ADORABLE, THOUGHTFUL, CREATIVE, MEANINGFUL! I loved them! Love them! The food was all my favorites. pineapple dip, chips and dip, finger sandwiches, veggies, and fruit. The desserts dressed the entire kitchen up. The cake was perfection! I loved the baby blocks! The dipped pink and white pretzels were so cute. Thank you, Mom for the cheesecakes, lemon squares and petifores were scrumptious! I just loved it all. And can't forget the punch! You knocked the shower out of the park and I loved every single thing! The baby game that was focused on me as a mother was perfect as well! Loved it!!!

Thank you, Mom! For everything you have always done for me! Seen and unseen!!!!!

Thank you, Karey for making the cookie favors that tied the whole shower together! And not to mention the professional artwork that is already hanging in Claire's room. I have to say, I kept saying the room isn't finished, the room isn't finished because SOMETHING WAS MISSING.......and you filled it! I loved it! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You are so talented.

Now to all my friends and family who attended! You are the most beautiful, talented group of women I have ever met!!! So many handmade, personalized gifts! I am overwhelmed! I would name you all off but then thought that might come across wrong. So thank you all for coming! Honestly, if I hadn't seen some of your faces there, I would have been sad to not have seen you. I loved the burp clothes, car seat covers, handmade blankets, handmade burp clothes, personalized picture frames, wall hangings, GIRL RATTLES AND PACIFIERS, handmade pillows, purple outfits, yellow outfits, pink outfits, monkey outfits, piggy banks, onesies with matching bibs, dresses, teal jumpers, white girly dresses, handmade onesies with ruffles on the bottom, bloomers, socks, books, lunch kit, diapers, whipes and of course all the BOWS! I love it ALL!!!!!!
